While promoting his upcoming film Jurassic World, Chris Pratt sat down with Men’s Health UK to discuss his current killer bod, former struggles with weight gain and how fitness has changed his life for the better.
Originally putting on weight to play Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation, Pratt said he and the rest of his cast mates made it a game to see how fat he could get in the fastest amount of time. Before he knew it, Pratt was 300 lbs.

He reveals that being in love with wife, actress Anna Faris, inspired the rapid weight increase.
I put on weight because I’d fallen in love with a woman who loved to feed her man. I was her little Hansel out in the woods and she was fattening me up to put me in the fire.It was like Momma Bear and Papa Bear. She would eat a little bit, I would eat all of mine and the rest of hers.
That all changed when Pratt was cast in last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy, where he spent months working his body into the muscle-bound sexiness we see–and lust after–today.
When I was fat and unhappy, the only moments of respite I got were when I was eating. Now mealtimes are sometimes lame, because that’s the way it can be when you’re eating healthily. But all the time between meals, I feel great.

We like you feeling great, Chris! And looking great, while we’re at it.
