Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's Nettle Recipes

Yesterday morning at 7 o'clock I went for a walk down a local footpath.  I took my secateurs and cleared most of the path.  I couldn't believe how many stinging nettles there were, how tall they were and how, all day, my hands felt as though they had been anaesthetised by the stings.  I did have gloves on but they got me anyway!

When I got home I got to thinking..........all those nettles.  There are many things you can do with them.  They can be used in the treatment of arthritis, disorders of the kidneys, urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract and skin, for flu, rheumatism and gout, and I just chopped them down and left them there.  So here is what I could have done with them........
