Well Last Night I Thought I Had Found It

No, I am not talking about "that body I always wanted" I am talking about my MOJO.  I never really worked out what a mojo is so here I am going to explore for the sake of others in the same position.  A magic charm, talisman, or spell?  What a load of twaddle!

Ah, this is more like it!  Self-confidence, Self-assuredness. As in basis for belief in ones self in a situation.

Well now that is sorted, to my satisfaction at least, on with the theme.

Last night I went to a Northern Soul dance class with Fiona Smith at the Community Centre in Netley Heath (Southampton).  I went there once before about 4 months ago and realised that I needed to get my knees better and stronger and my energy level up in order to do all the stomping and stuff.  So last night was a dream.  OK, she has staying power, that girl, stomping and shuffling and sliding and gliding but at least I could keep it up for a little while.  So I am so pleased with myself and I FEEL COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BECAUSE OF IT.  It doesn't take a lot, just keeping on keeping on is enough.

For 4 or 5  months now I have been exercising with Camilla Dallerup's "Dance Off The Inches" DVD and most days I have added on a mixture of Fiona Smith's "Dance Northern" DVD, Lilia's "Latinasize" DVD,

Vicky Binns "Dance It Off"DVD

and Keti Sharif's "Complete A-Z Original Bellydance" DVD.  It has all been worthwhile as I now have twice the energy and stamina than before.

I'm looking forward to my next class.

Feeling Quite Pleased With Myself

Well,

Yesterday being a bank holiday I was lucky enough to not be working.  I did myself proud.  I got up when I felt like it, which in retrospect turned out to be about 7 o'clock, had my non carb breakfast of 3 eggs scrambled with linseed sprinkled on the top and a black coffee.  Then I put Camilla Dallerup's workout on the DVD and did the whole hour's workout with her.  I only do it about twice a week but I am now remembering some of the sequences so I can concentrate on getting quality into the moves instead of rushing trying to keep up.  I can also get right through to the end without feeling like a corpse!

Then,

I still had some energy left so I put on Keti Sharif's A - Z of Bellydance and tried, for the second time, to get a handle on moves L - P.  P is brilliant because although I have seen it danced lots of times I never really worked out that I didn't actually have this in my movement vocabulary so mission of the week is to take the DVD to belly dancing on Wednesday and learn it with my partner-in-crime, Chris.  She has the laptop, I have the DVD and between us we are gonna crack this move!

In the middle of belly dancing, my friend phoned and we went out for a drink and a chat and 5 hours later I came home feeling like I actually LIVED.  So many days just pass in a haze.  So many good intentions get swept away.  Getting up, going to work, rushing around after work trying to get things done is the norm, but yesterday was MY day and it felt great.  COPY ME PLEASE.

Here is a bit of a Keti sharif dvd
