Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Body
Explore the good, the bad and the downright ugly about how your body works. Grossology is a science-in-disguise exhibition where kids get the answers to many of the slimy, oozy, crusty, stinky questions they absolutely love to ask about the human body. The 6,000-square-foot exhibition has more than 20 interactive displays and games and is designed to be the first of its kind. The exhibition gives kids, along with intrigued adults, an opportunity to learn about runny noses, body odor and other unmentionables. Take a “Tour du Nose” to explore 10 nasal features, including how your snoot acts as an air filter, a smell sensor and a mucus producer. Play the pinball game “Gas Attack” by scoring off bumpers dressed up as food items that cause gas. Mimic the build up of acid indigestion by causing the “Burp Machine” to release a giant belch. Climb a large-scale replica of human skin, and discover other mysterious ways your body’s biology does what it needs to do to keep you healthy. You might even meet our special guest 'Nigel Nose-It-All' up close!
Regular Museum admission pricing: Members are always free. Adults - $11, Children/Students (3-22) and Seniors - $8, Children 2 and under are free.
